The new ranking of the best cities in the world to live according to The Economist

Canada, Switzerland and Australia have seven locations among the 10 highlighted by the traditional list. In Latin America, Buenos Aires was once again the best considered.

The British media The Economist published its traditional ranking with the most livable cities in the world. In the top 10 the only ones from the American continent are Canadians.

“Living conditions in cities around the world have fully recovered from the deterioration caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,” says The Economist.

The ranking rates living conditions in 173 cities in five categories: stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure .

Cities in the Asia-Pacific region are the ones that have recovered the most, according to the list.

Vienna tops the rankings for the fourth time in five years. Copenhagen, a city similar in size and characteristics to Vienna, comes in second place. Melbourne, which used to be at the top of the ranking, now occupies third place. Nine of the top ten cities are small or medium-sized.

Large cities with high levels of crime, congestion and density tend to be far away in the ranking. London is in 46th place, 12 less than a year ago, while New York in 69th, ten less than in 2022.

For its part, The Economist also made a list of the least habitable cities, due to the war against Russia, is also among the least habitable cities. It had been excluded from the 2022 ranking because the Russian invasion took place while the data to compile the list was being collected.kyivhas been the least habitable city in the world for more than a decad.

While in Latin America, the best cities to live are Buenos Aires (Argentina), Santiago (Chile) and Montevideo (Uruguay). On the contrary, Caracas (Venezuela) is the worst Latin American in the ranking. The ranking also mentions Aguascalientes(Mexico) and Guatemala among the worst ranked, with a score less than 60.

In Africa there is no location above 70 points, with Johannesburg (South Africa) at the top, while (United Arab Emirates) tops the list in the Middle East and North Africa.Abu Dhabi

In Eastern Europe,Budapest (Hungary) and Prague Honolulu, Atlanta and Pittsburgh.

The highest concentration of cities rated between 90 and 100 points occurs in Western Europe, with Helsinki(Finland), Luxembourg, Amsterdam (Holland), Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich(Germany) among those that accompany the three standouts in the global top ten.
