Natural curly hair

If you have naturally curly hair, consider embracing your natural texture. A layered cut, which flatters the curl texture, can be a great option. Additionally, you could add some hair accessories, such as headbands or barrettes, for an extra touch.

How many types of hair are there and what are their characteristics?

The first thing we should know is that, regardless of the type of hair we have, our hair can be oily, dry, dyed or highlighted, so choosing the right products for these particularities is also essential to show it off perfectly. The key to having healthy and soft hair is to know it perfectly. Only then can you apply the necessary products and the correct treatment it needs.

There are, as a general rule, four types of hair. They are the following:

  • Straight/straight hair or type one.
  • Wavy or type two hair.
  • Curly or type three.
  • Curly (very curly) or type four.

Types of straight or straight hair

Straight or straight hair is the most common in Europe and as a general rule tends to look a little less voluminous than, for example, wavy hair. Points in its favor: it is the most resistant and the brightest (the light reflects better on it). Cons: It usually appears thin and thin.

There are three types of straight hair:

  • Type 1A hair: It is the easiest to recognize because it is the finest of all. It is thin and not very bulky, with a tendency to be greasy and stick to the head.
  • Type 1B hair: Thicker than the previous one, with more body and sufficient volume.
  • Type 1C hair: It is characterized by being resistant and thick, which means it frizzes easily. How to take care of straight hair: To properly care for your straight hair, we recommend, as a basic rule, washing it almost daily to avoid excess sebum and, preferably, with a light shampoo.

Wavy hair types

This is one of the most common types of hair and one of the ones that offers us the most possibilities when it comes to creating different looks.

There are three types of wavy hair:

  • Type 2A Hair: From the roots to around eye level, the hair is mainly straight. From now on, it is distinguished by having loose and indefinite waves. It is usually fine.
  • Type 2B hair: The waves go from the middle to the ends. In this case, they usually have a more marked shape. Its thickness is intermediate.
  • Type 2C hair: These are the best defined waves and usually start at the crown of the head. It is the thickest. How to take care of straight hair:
  • Here we recommend washing it every two days. This will be more than enough to keep it clean and, therefore, easier to shape.

curly hair types

Curly hair, in most cases, is voluminous but more prone to damage, which results in more damaged hair.

There are three types of curly hair:

  • Type 3A hair: It is characterized by forming loose ringlets in the shape of that.
  • Type 3B hair: Their slightly narrower, more spiralized shape and the fact that they are neither too thick nor too thin give them a very natural look.
  • Type 3C Hair: If you have thick, coarse, corkscrew curls, you have type 3C curly hair. It is very voluminous.

Types of very curly hair

Although it may seem thick, it is actually fragile and brittle. It has a high density and shrinks when wet because it has fewer cuticle layers than other hair types and is therefore more sensitive to damage.

There are three types of very curly hair:

  • Type 4A hair: The hair forms defined spirals and is slightly smaller than the previous one.
  • Type 4B hair: The hair acquires a zigzag pattern, so the curls are less evident. It tends to be somewhat hard, complex to handle and shrinks easily.
  • Type 4C hair: It is the most rebellious and resistant of all hair types. The curls form spirals, even less noticeable than the previous ones, and are very difficult to comb. How to take care of curly hair:
